Oticon More is the purveyor of true innovation. It boldly claims to break a law of physics and delivers further improvements in speech understanding and listening effort than anything that came before it. Fuelled by the new, advanced Velox S™ platform, Oticon More takes their renowned Open-Sound experience and unique benefits of BrainHearing™ to new levels.
An impressive feature of the More1 is the OpenSound Optimizer, which is the brain inside, performing all the processing and designed to give the wearer a whole new level of listening freedom. This apparent law-breaking feature analyses the amplified sound at an astonishing 56,000 times/sec. But who are we to argue this? Due to the lightning speed, it can detect and prevent feedback pro-actively, even before it occurs — something previously unachievable in the industry. We have witnessed it at work through our clients, which is testament to the technology. The OpenSound Optimizer represents a breakthrough in accessing speech details, with more natural sound and increased comfort.
With the original introduction of Oticon Opn and the open sound experience, Oticon proved how this unique approach outperforms traditional hearing aid technology with backed-up, scientific evidence, independently verified. Now, with their upgraded OpenSound universe, Oticon More takes BrainHearing™ benefits to new heights.
There may be a lot of buzzwords here, as manufacturers are inclined to use. But regardless, the stats speak for themselves — here are the headlines:
Opn technology gives increased speech understanding by 30%, compared to traditional hearing aids. But Oticon More outperforms Oticon Opn with a further 15% increase.
Opn previously reduced listening effort by 20%, compared to traditional hearing aids. Oticon More adds an extra 10% reduction to that performance.
Opn already provides improved memory recall by 20%, compared to traditional hearing aids. With Oticon Opn, S that number is increased by an additional 10%.
With research and development like this, it’s easy to see how Oticon have long been front-runners in the hearing aid industry, backed-up by recognised scientific evidence.
Single-Sided Deafness
A recent addition to the More family is a Cros Aid. This allows sound from a deaf ear to be transferred across to a hearing aid in the other ear, whether the better ear also has hearing loss or not. It can also allow the streaming of Bluetooth audio from your phone, directly to the hearing aid and at the same time, without loss of audio.
This incredible product has the power to bring people to tears, as they are suddenly given the life-changing ability to perceive sound from a side that previously gave little or no hearing. For anyone in this position, who may have actually given up on hearing people on one side, we urge you to say least give it a go and experience this magical effect.
Lithium Rechargeable Technology
Oticon More 1s can be charged overnight in a portable docking station, rather than relying on batteries. Wearers have come to almost expect this option, but it doesn’t make it any less impressive. You can expect 23 hours’ use from a three-hour charge — highly convenient and easy to use. Automatic switching on and off means that really is nothing to think about other than putting them in products on our list, Mores come with automatic streaming of sound directly from your phone or tablet. iPhone users can achieve this just by pairing up the hearing aids, whereas Android users require an additional mobile clip-on device to achieve the same — but it gives them truly hands-free hearing, as the clip picks up their own voice, meaning they can place the phone away.
It’s such a sublime experience to hear sound piped directly into the ears. For some clients, this has been the tipping point when deciding to invest in their hearing. For the first time in history, hearing aid wearers feel compelled to show off something that has been an embarrassing stigma for the longest time.
Oticon ON App
An internet–connected hearing aid app enables advanced connections to a whole world of wireless devices and solutions. Stream your TV’s audio directly to your hearing aids or adjust the volume discreetly with a tiny remote control (below). With the Oticon ON App, you can set personal listening goals and follow your daily hearing aid use through HearingFitness™.
Oticon ON also enables your hearing aids to interact with other internet-connected devices and services. You can even control your lights, home alarm or smart thermostat when you turn your hearing aids on or off, if you like your interactive technology. Tell your hearing aids to notify you when your battery is low, the laundry is finished or someone’s at the door. Clever stuff.
Accessories
As well as the mobile client clip-on device, there is also an impressive external TV streamer and a revolutionary landline phone streamer to complete the Oticon line-up. These are all add-ons that will either be of little benefit or a huge selling point that superbly impacts the wearer’s whole experience. If you think you would enjoy clear sound streamed directly to your hearing aids from your TV, or your existing landline phone, then you’re in for a treat. Make sure you mention this to us and we’ll see what we can do.
